Mental Health Center of San Diego

Facility overview

Facility Summary:

most mental health treatment centers, patients participate in group therapies that aren’t specific to their diagnosis. We spent several years trying to convince mental health primary centers to have diagnosis specific treatment tracks. But we eventually decided that the best way to make a difference in our community (and the world) was by creating our own treatment center with innovative, comprehensive practices. The Mental Health Center of San Diego has individualized treatment tracks with specific curriculums to match each patient’s diagnosis. For example, our ADD/ADHD treatment track doesn’t have the same curriculum as our bipolar treatment track, and our anxiety treatment track isn’t the same as our OCD treatment track. We believe it is crucial to adopt this model in order to make real progress in treating mental health in the future. After years of working in the mental health industry, we’ve found that many primary mental health facilities are treating patients incorrectly. What we have found is that after a patient gets transferred to a primary mental health treatment facility for adults, they get placed into a group setting with other people who have completely different diagnoses.
