Mountain Vista Farm California

Facility overview

Facility Summary:

Mountain Vista Farm holds a truly special place in the history of alcohol and drug treatment and in the hearts of thousands of people who have successfully recovered from alcohol and drug addiction. Originally called “Truman’s Mountain Vista Farm,” the program is the longest standing residential treatment facility of its type in Northern California, and in North America. Through the years since Truman first opened the doors to Mountain Vista Farm, we have maintained a place of safety and support for people who struggle with addiction, and those who love them. Since its beginnings in 1949, our clients have found this serene, private, secluded environment to be a place of healing and hope. With beautiful scenery in all seasons that offers ample space for exploration, reflection, wellness, and contemplation, and accommodations that are simple and comfortable, Mountain Vista Farm offers a rustic, down-to-earth setting where people come to feel at home while they learn to embrace and enjoy life without the pain of addiction. In the early years, the facility Truman opened treated alcoholics only. In fact, he even took people in for weekend stints to “dry out” – there are many old-timers in recovery circles who recall Truman’s open door. Mountain Vista Farm added treatment for people with drug addictions over 50 years ago, in addition to alcohol. Our program is constantly developing, with training and resources revised and added to treat clients who suffer because of problems with alcohol and other drugs. Today, Mountain Vista Farm is revered in recovery circles as a compassionate treatment program that works, and considered by many professionals to be the premier addiction treatment facility in Northern California. Mountain Vista Farm is nationally accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) and licensed by the California Department of Healthcare Services (DCHS).
