We believe that treatment should go beyond just addressing the illness itself. That’s why we work with an integrated model of care to build a thriving and sustainable life for all our patients. Substance abuse often occurs concurrently with mental health issues, including depression, bipolar disorder, anxiety, post-traumatic stress, personality disorders, and ADD/ADHD. According to the National Library of Medicine, “About half of people with a mental disorder will also have a substance use disorder at some point in their lives and vice versa. The interactions of the two conditions can worsen both.” For people in addiction recovery, understanding the role mental health plays in their substance abuse is critical. To that end, the New Origins team includes a number of counselors and therapists who specialize in co-occurring disorders. We combine customized treatment plans with the compassionate support and attention necessary for successful outcomes.
